PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS
The Golf Club is proud to refer players to our resident teaching professional, Steve Moore. Steve has a passion for instruction and helping players of all skill levels improve. He is continually seeking education to ensure he brings the best information and his best efforts to every lesson.
STEVE MOORE
Steve first took up the game of golf at a late age of 15. He immediately found a passion for the game and reduced his handicap from 28 to 1 in a span of 3 years. Steve then enrolled in the PGA training program and qualified 4 years later with a diploma in Golf Management.
For two years Steve worked as the Head Professional at Citywest Golf Club in Dublin, Ireland. Following his work as a head professional Steve took on the role as a Teaching Professional in Brand, Austria fueling his passion for teaching the game. Steve continued to work as a Teaching Professional upon his return to Ireland, completing five seasons at The Spawell Golf Academy in Dublin. With that, Steve recognized he wanted to explore his passion for teaching further and in 2015 made a big move to Canada finding himself at Lora Bay Golf Club in Collingwood, Ontario. Steve firstly worked as the Associate Professional at Lora Bay until 2020 when becoming the Head Professional.
After two seasons balancing a Head Professional role and Golf Coach, Steve has now taken the step into Full Time coaching and is continuously developing his teaching through Steve Moore Golf.
In the last few years Steve has shadowed and learned from Chris Como, Jeff Smith, George Gankas and Scott Cowx as well as attending with Sean Foley, Andrew Rice.

Marcus Roth
Marcus’ golf career began at the age of 12 just outside of Kitchener, playing as much golf as he possibly could. He had been tracking his rounds for a few seasons, playing as many as 200 rounds per year at the highest. From ages 12-18, you could count the buckets of range balls he had hit with your hands. Playing the course over
and over is what allowed him to develop his own knack for lowering his scores quick enough to play collegiate golf for Georgian College where he also got his Golf Management Degree.
In 2018, He turned Professional with the PGA of Canada, and began teaching at The Georgian Bay Club shortly after 2020. He dedicates a lot of his study to the custom club fitting space and has great passion for equipment, spending the last 5 years
supported by Callaway Golf and doing custom fitting for the brand across Ontario.
In his instruction, he pushes his players to add new skills, not necessarily by “fixing” their swing, but allowing them to explore new ways to approach different
scenarios.
You will find Marcus playing in at The Golf Club this winter quite frequently as his obsession with the game has never slowed. His passion for improvement is rooted in him and keeps him motivated to work towards more PGA of Ontario Championships. You will see him in this season’s TGC Tour and conducting various clinics / practice programs throughout the 2024/2025 winter season
